Sri Sharada Devi Andhara Vikaasa Kendra - Center for the upliftment of the Blind

Serving the Poor and Needy is Worship of God

Sri Sharada Devi Andhara Vikasa Kendra was founded in 1986 under the inspiration and encouragement of monks like Swami Vivekananda of the Shri Rama Krishna Mission.

Educational Programme

The center aims at the upliftment of the blind by providing them with free education including food, clothing, lodging and medical assistance. Further education after high school is encouraged to help become independent and self sufficient. The center also conducts vocational training programs including computer, dairy and horticultural training.

Sports & Cultural Programme

Education is not all. Our students play many sports and competed in world disable day. They actively take part in cultural activites including music, elocution and quiz. Even they mount a colourful "Yakshagana"(Fold dance drama of Karnataka) production during our annual day celebration.
